Two Final Third Development League Cup games took place this week with wins for Hartlepool United and AFC Wimbledon.
Final Third Development League Cup – Northern Group CTwo goals from Scott Fenwick gave Hartlepool United a 2-1 win against Gateshead at Billinghtam Town's Bedford Terrace.
The Pools trialist opened the scoring in the 63rd minute from close range only for Gateshead substitute Micky Cummins to equalise just after coming on.
Fenwick, who is on trial from non-league Dunston UTS, scored the winner with 15 minutes left on the clock, after beating the offside trap and finishing confidently.
Final Third Development League Cup – Southern Group A
AFC Wimbledon saw off Milton Keynes Dons 3-0 in their first Final Third Development League Cup outing of the season.
George Oakley struck a superb, low effort from 20 yards to give the Wombles a first-half lead and it was 2-0 early in the second period when Kevin Sainte-Luce was brought down in the box, and Chace Jacquart converted from 12 yards.
Sainte-Luce then turned goalscorer as he beat two challenges before finishing emphatically to make it 3-0, giving Wimbledon a comfortable victory.
