Sky Bet, the title sponsor of The Football League, is auctioning a range of signed, match-worn poppy shirts worn by players in this weekend’s Championship fixtures – as part of the #BidToRemember campaign.
All proceeds from the #BidToRemember shirt auction will go directly to The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, supporting the Armed Forces community, through welfare, comradeship and representation.
Sky Bet Head of Sponsorship Edwin Martin said: “This is a cause that resonates with everyone in the country, especially this year, the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of World War 1 in 1914.
“We know Football League club supporters to be hugely passionate people, who always throw their support behind the Poppy Appeal.
“At Sky Bet, we would like to thank the Sky Bet Championship clubs, who have agreed to do things differently this year, in recognition that, together, we can make a bigger difference than ever before.”
The Royal British Legion Corporate Partnerships Manager Alexandra Caine said: “We are incredibly grateful to Sky Bet, and to all the Championship clubs, for their support for this year’s Poppy Appeal. “The money raised from campaigns like #BidToRemember will help fund our nationwide welfare work for Serving and ex-Service personnel, who put their lives on the line for their country.”
All lots will be going live on Sky Bet’s eBay shop between Saturday November 8 and Monday November 10.
