Brian Lenihan makes Blackpool switch

7 November 2014

Hull City full-back Brian Lenihan is the latest arrival at Blackpool after joining on a one-month loan.

Lee Clark has only been in the Bloomfield Road post for nine days but Jacob Murphy, Jonathan Legear, Jamie O'Hara and Lenihan have already penned deals with the club.

Lenihan, a recent call up to the Republic of Ireland's Under-21 squad, is yet to make a senior appearance for the Tigers but could make his Seasiders debut against Leeds on Saturday as captain Tony McMahon is suspended.

"We're short on defenders anyway in the football club but certainly with Tony (McMahon) being suspended we had to move very, very quickly. Thankfully my relationship with Steve (Bruce) meant that we could get the deal done quite quickly," Clark told a press conference.

"I was watching him before he signed for Hull when I was Birmingham City manager. He's very attack-minded and he's got great energy to get up and down the park.

"I spoke to Steve Bruce and since he's been at Hull he's been very impressed by him. We're going to enjoy working with him."
