Tom Barkhuizen is set to be occupying the sidelines for a month with an arm fracture. The striker, who has recently returned to Bloomfield Road following a loan spell at Morecambe, sustained the problem during the early stages of a behind-closed-doors friendly at Sunderland earlier this week.
Manager Lee Clark told the club's official website: "It's very unfortunate because the lad was impressing me.
"We've had some good news in that it'll only be three-to-four weeks before he's available for us again.
"The cast he's got on means he can do all the fitness work that's required so he'll probably come back in better physical shape, even though he's in good shape and a fit lad anyway.
"We look forward to having him back because he'd created a little bit of an impression."
Meanwhile, Costa Rica international Jose Miguel Cubero has returned to his homeland to have a pin removed from his ankle.
Cubero said: "I think things turned out as they had planned before the operation, it was a simple operation, remove the screw that I had put in two years ago."
