The 2014 World Cup will begin with Canarinho against Vatreni, before El Tri face Les Lions Indomptables the next day.
Understand? Brazil versus Croatia, and then Mexico against Cameroon.
When it comes to national football teams, the use of nicknames can be commonly used (Socceroos), or simply just employed by the media as an alternative way to speak about the team (The White and Sky Blue).
Four teams out of the 32 are simply referred to as 'The National Team', while two nations go by the name of 'The Tricolour'. Most nicknames seem to either be in reference to a colour either in the team's flag or shirt, or an animal.
The best nickname not to be at this year's tournament is the last hosts; South Africa, who commonly go by the name of Bafana Bafana - Boys Boys.
