Shrewsbury Town have appointed Micky Mellon as their new manager.
The former Fleetwood boss has signed a one-year rolling contract and will be assisted by Mike Jackson, who had been in caretaker charge of the Shrews since Graham Turner stepped down in January, and Danny Coyne.
Mellon, who led the Cod Army into the Football League in 2012, has been out of work since leaving his role as Barnsley's assistant manager in March and will now be tasked with leading Shrewsbury back into League One.
Chairman Roland Wycherley told the club's official website: "We are delighted to confirm Micky as our new first-team manager.
"As a club we carefully considered our next step because it was a very important decision for our football club. But having gone through that process, we agreed that Micky fitted our brief perfectly.
"Micky represents all the strong values we hold so dearly as a football club, he is a very passionate person and everyone is looking forward to working with him.
"We have all been impressed with his enthusiasm and ideas and we are confident of a successful time together."
