Oxford United have extended the contracts of captain Jake Wright and top scorer James Constable but have bid farewell to three players.
Deane Smalley, Sean Rigg and Scott Davies will not be offered contracts with the club while the U's will discuss a coaching role with Wayne Brown and talk to Tom Newey on Friday.
Constable has been the club's leading marksman for the last six seasons since arriving from Kidderminster while skipper Wright had an option in his contract to extend his deal by a year which Oxford have taken.
"It's never an easy decision and we wish the lads who we have let go well in the future," manager Gary Waddock told the club's official website.
"At the same time we draw a line under last season, learn valuable lessons and look to build a side capable of challenging next time.
"Both Jake Wright and James Constable have been tremendous servants to this club and want to enjoy success here. They have an opportunity to be part of the rebuilding and the exciting times that I believe lie ahead for Oxford United. "
