Bristol Rovers relegated out of The Football League

3 May 2014

Bristol Rovers have been relegated out of The Football League after losing 1-0 at home to Mansfield Town.

The Gas were three points above the relegation zone going into the final day but Wycombe's win at Torquay United, coupled with Northampton Town's 3-1 victory against Oxford United, and Rovers' defeat to Mansfield Town means they drop into the Conference.

A first-half goal from Colin Daniel gave the Stags three points, meaning Rovers finish in 23rd in Sky Bet League 2, relegated on goal difference.

Rovers were admitted to The League in 1920 and this is the first time they have dropped out of it.
