Millwall call back John Marquis from Northampton Town

13 March 2014

Millwall have recalled striker John Marquis from his loan spell at Sky Bet League 2 side Northampton Town.

Lions boss Ian Holloway has activated a 24-hour recall clause following a spate of injuries at The Den.

Marquis made seven appearances for Town and manager Chris Wilder said: "We are sorry to see John go.

"John is a young player and his attitude has been superb. He's a competitor and he's a young player learning his trade who wants to do well.

"John wanted to come here and play a part and he's done that and we thank him and Millwall for the last few weeks."

Holloway has been hit by injuries to strikers DJ Campbell, Steve Morison and Jermaine Easter ahead of Saturday's clash with relegation rivals Charlton Athletic.
