Peterborough United and Chesterfield fans got in the mood for Sunday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final with two days of exciting build-up to the showpiece occasion.

The Johnstone's Paint Trophy Tour captured the imagination of both Posh and Spireites supporters who will be heading down to Wembley for Sunday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final.

The trophy was taken around various locations, providing fans with the opportunity to have their picture taken with the coveted silverware.

A host of shops, businesses and community groups from across the city of Peterborough and the town of Chesterfield also took part in a special Paint the Town Blue Day to show their support for the club.

In Peterborough, the trophy made an appearance at the Johnstone's Decorating Centre on the Fengate Industrial Estate near the greyhound track.

Peterborough stars Britt Assombalonga, Kyle Vassell and Jermaine Anderson all joined in the pre-Final fun.

A hectic two days also included a fan engagement event at the Queensgate Shopping Centre.

Manager Darren Ferguson was joined there by three players - Craig Alcock, Jack Payne and Joe Newell.

While in Chesterfield, it made appearances at the Johnstone's Decorating Centre on Britannia Road opposite the bowling alley and at the Market Hall, with Chesterfield stars Ian Evatt and Armand Gnanduillet in attendance.

The tour also included a Johnstone's Paint Trophy fans forum at the Proact Stadium featuring Chesterfield manager Paul Cook, chief executive Chris Turner and club legend Tony Lormor.

Ben Wilde, brand and sponsorship manager for competition sponsors Johnstone's Paint, said: "It was a fantastic two days in Peterborough and the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Tour created an excellent atmosphere.

"We were delighted with the backing we received from Peterborough as a whole and it was a real pleasure to take the trophy around the various locations.

"Our thanks go to the people of Peterborough and the football club itself for supporting the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Tour and we hope everyone enjoys their big day at Wembley on Sunday."
