Bristol City capture Martin Paterson

15 March 2014

Bristol City have signed Huddersfield Town striker Martin Paterson on loan for the rest of the season.

The 26-year-old Northern Ireland international striker is their second signing in quick succession having added Nyron Nosworthy to their squad on Friday.

City boss Steve Cotterill told the club's official website: "We've got three strikers and we've wanted to get to four for some time.

"We've had to wait a bit for Martin to see what his situation is for him. They've signed Nahki Wells and James Vaughan is coming back to full fitness, so this opportunity has arisen and we're very grateful to Huddersfield.

"Martin's a very hard-working striker who will offer us another option in attack and we're delighted to have him."

Paterson, who made his name at Scunthorpe United before a spell at Burnley, has scored eight times in 33 games this season and can face Swindon Town on Saturday afternoon.
