Yeovil Town land Liverpool youngster

30 June 2014

Yeovil Town have signed defender Jakub Sokolik following his departure from Liverpool.

The 20-year-old, who was wanted by Southend having made 12 appearances while on loan from Anfield at the end of last season, has spurned their advances to sign a two-year deal with the Sky Bet League 1 side.

Sokolik, a replacement for Byron Webster after his departure to Millwall, becomes the third defensive recruit this summer for the Glovers following the arrival of Nathan Smith and Aaron Martin while goalkeeper Artur Krysiak joined on Monday afternoon.

The move also reunites Sokolik with former Liverpool team-mate Adam Morgan, who arrived at Huish Park in January from Anfield.
