Shaun North makes Cheltenham Town move

19 June 2014

Cheltenham Town have announced Shaun North as their new first-team coach.

The former Bristol Rovers assistant manager arrives at Whaddon Road after departing his role as under-21 development coach at AFC Wimbledon and will join up with the squad when they return to training on 1st July.

"I am really looking forward to starting life with Cheltenham Town," the 54-year-old told the club's official website.

"I'm disappointed to be leaving Wimbledon because I had a good time there but I am really looking forward to the new season.

"This has given me the chance to work back at first team level and I have missed that over the last year.

"My time at Wimbledon was fantastic. The people there right through the club are unbelievable. I cannot praise them highly enough and it was a very difficult decision to leave.

"Football is my life. It always has been and it always will be."

North will join Steve Elliot, Ian Weston and Steve Book as part of Mark Yates' new-look backroom staff.
