Luton Town have confirmed the signing of Ross Lafayette on a two-year deal.
The 27-year-old striker arrives from non-league Welling for whom he scored 17 goals in 41 appearances last season.
"It's not often you get the chance to be a professional footballer," Lafayette told the club's official website after signing his first professional contract.
"I have to hit the ground running and I'm confident in my ability and want to show (manager) John (Still) and the players I can play.
"I want to hopefully play in League 1 next season with Luton."
Still said Lafayette had been a long-term target and is confident he will continue to score goals.
"He was one we thought about signing had we not captured Paul Benson," said Still.
"We signed Paul so we left it there, but subsequently he went on and enjoyed a terrific season with Welling last year.
"Ross has a lot of ingredients which make him an ideal signing. He's quick, he's strong and he knows how to score goals."
