Defender Gabriel Zakuani has rejoined Peterborough United on a two-year contract.
Zakuani has spent the last six months playing for FC Kalloni in Greece but is delighted to have completed a return to London Road.
He told the club's official website: "Things happen very quickly in football. I missed the club. This feels like a homecoming. I feel like there is unfinished business here. I want to get this club back to the Championship.
"I really enjoyed my time in Greece, but I really missed the club and it hurt me when we were beaten in the play-offs. I can't wait to get started again."
The DR Congo international is relishing the prospect of forming a central defensive pairing with youngster Jack Baldwin and added: " I have watched Jack a couple of times and he reminds me of Ryan Bennett. Hopefully I can help Jack and form a good partnership with him if we are selected together."
Manager Darren Ferguson said: " I just felt that in the last month of the season we really could have done with him. He has enjoyed good success in this league and knows the club inside out. I have thought about the potential partnership with Jack Baldwin and that was a part of my thinking."
