Barnsley have signed midfielder Conor Hourihane from Plymouth Argyle for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old, Argyle's skipper for the last two seasons, has signed a three-year deal at Oakwell.
Hourihane progressed through Sunderland's youth system and spent a season at Ipswich before joining Plymouth in July 2011.
The former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international made 142 appearances for the Pilgrims during his three seasons at Home Park.
He is the Reds third summer signing following the arrival of goalkeeper A dam Davies from Sheffield Wednesday and striker Kane Hemmings from Cowdenbeath.
