Attacker Jamie Devitt helped Chesterfield to their promotion from Sky Bet League 2 last season before making a loan move to Morecambe for the final third of the campaign.
His temporary switch to the Globe Arena was just one of many that he has completed since coming through the youth ranks at Hull City.
The 23-year-old made 14 appearances for Jim Bentley's side, scoring twice, including one on the last day against AFC Wimbledon, and he was rewarded for his fine form with a two-year contract.
With his immediate future secure, Devitt will now have the opportunity to hold down a first-team place and get some consistency under his belt during the 2014/15 Sky Bet League 2 campaign.
Along with Devitt, defenders Ryan Edwards and Shaun Beeley have also signed for the Shrimps in what has been a relatively quiet close-season of ins and outs at the Lancashire club.
