Sky Bet Championship key transfer: Ross McCormack to Fulham

9 July 2014

After a fine 2013/14 Sky Bet Championship season with Leeds United, striker Ross McCormack has signed for divisional rivals Fulham for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old had a hand in 36 goals last term for the Whites, netting 28 in the Sky Bet Championship to make him the division's top scorer.

One of his finest displays came at The Valley in November when he struck all four of Leeds' goals in their 4-2 victory against Charlton Athletic, helping him to pick up the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award.

Felix Magath is rumoured to have paid £11million to secure the services of the Scot but he has bagged someone who could be the catalyst for Fulham's immediate return to the top flight after their relegation last season.

Magath told "Ross was not only the top scorer in the Championship last season, but also made a lot of assists, so has a proven pedigree at this level which can only be an asset to us.

"I'm glad for our fans that we've signed an experienced and exciting player, a Scotland international, with a great attitude and presence who can be a leader that our young and ambitious squad can learn from."

He will join Kostas Mitroglou in an expensive front-line at Craven Cottage, the Greek having joined Fulham for around £12m in January.

The Cottagers have also brought in defenders Kay Voser, Tim Hoogland and Shaun Hutchinson and Australian attacker Adam Taggart during the summer.
