Mansfield Town have denied reports that last season's top scorer Sam Clucas is in talks with Leyton Orient over a potential move to the Sky Bet League 1 club.
It was claimed on Friday morning that the Stags had accepted an offer for the midfielder and that he was set to discuss personal terms with the O's.
However, Mansfield said in a statement: "On the contrary to reports this morning elsewhere in the media, Mansfield Town Football Club can confirm that we have not received a bid from Leyton Orient for Sam Clucas."
Earlier this week Stags boss Paul Cox confirmed they had turned down a bid for Clucas from an unnamed League One side, along with a separate offer from another club for defender Ryan Tafazolli.
Clucas, 23, who moved to Mansfield last summer from Hereford, scored 13 goals last season.
