Bristol City have turned down a bid from Brighton for captain Sam Baldock.
The offer for the former MK Dons forward, who hit 24 goals last season to help keep the Robins in League One, was rejected because City are determined to keep their skipper.
But his absence from their first two pre-season friendlies sparked rumours that he was on his way out of Ashton Gate, something boss Steve Cotterill cleared up.
"There's nothing behind Sam not playing," he told the club's official website. "That was more our decision not to include him - not through any other reason or speculation, it's more about training.
"The offer (from Brighton) was dismissed. We don't want to sell him and he's happy here."
