Watford successfully appeal Gabriele Angella's red card against Bournemouth

21 January 2014

Watford have successfully appealed Gabriele Angella's red card against Bournemouth on the grounds of mistaken identity, with Fitz Hall now facing a suspension.

Angella was dismissed after referee Carl Boyeson believed it was the Italian and not Hall who had denied Lewis Grabban a clear goalscoring opportunity during the 1-1 draw at Bournemouth.

Watford also appealed the decision to award Hall a red card, but that was unsuccessful.

Hall will now serve a one-match ban, keeping him out of Saturday's FA Cup fourth-round tie with Manchester City, but Angella is free to play.
