Leon McSweeney joins Northampton Town

30 January 2014

Northampton Town have signed defender Leon McSweeney on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

The 30-year-old, who left Leyton Orient at the end of last term following a two-year spell, recently parted ways with Carlisle after a four-month stay at Brunton Park

McSweeney boasts a wealth of experience having also previously played for the likes of Cork, Leicester, Stockport and Hartlepool.

He is the latest arrival at Sixfields as new Cobblers boss Chris Wilder continues to shape his squad.
