Charlton Athletic close to Piotr Parzyszek deal

30 January 2014

Charlton Athletic are poised to sign Polish striker Piotr Parzyszek from De Graafschap, according to the Dutch club.

The 20-year-old is due to undergo a medical on Friday before putting pen to paper on a four-and-a-half year deal at The Valley.

"We would have loved to have Piotr until the end of this season at De Graafschap but we are a proud club and will not stand in his way to make such a step," technical manager Roland Vroomans told the club website.

Parzyszek added: " As a player I can improve. Now I am ready for my next sporting stage. I want to thank all the fans for their support, but also the club for the opportunities to always continue to develop me."

Parzyszek is set to become Charlton's fifth signing of the January transfer window after Standard Liege loanees Astrit Ajdarevi?, Yohann Thuram-Ulien and Anil Ko? and former Ujpest full-back Loic Nego.

Meanwhile, Charlton midfielder Dale Stephens is being heavily linked with a deadline-day switch to Brighton.
