Basement club Northampton Town were one of the busiest the clubs in Sky Bet League 2 on during the transfer window, which came to a conclusion with the signing of Emile Sinclair moments before 11pm on Friday night.
The 26-year-old has penned a loan deal with a view to a permanent after an undisclosed fee was agreed with Crawley Town. Sinclair joined Leon McSweeney, Alan Connell, Ricky Ravenhill and Antonio German in penning deals at the Cobblers.
Paul Reid and Hallam Hope both departed Sixfields, while Kevin Amankwaah had his contract terminated.
Torquay, one place above Northampton in the table, were also busy, signing Manchester United youngster Jack Rudge on loan for a month. Other recruits over January for new boss Chris Hargreaves included Aiden O'Brien, also on a month's loan, from Millwall, Danny Stevens and Shaun Cooper.
Burton Albion, chasing promotion from the division, made a double swoop on deadline day. Defender David Gray and striker Gary Alexander both signed on deals until the end of the season, from Stevenage and Crawley Town respectively.
David Connolly signed for Oxford United from Portsmouth on Friday and was netting on his debut 24 hours later as the U's won 2-1 at home to AFC Wimbledon.
George Porter joined Rochdale until the end of the season after being released by Burnley.
Bury boss David Flitcroft was one of the busiest managers throughout January - he captured Andrew Tutte and Clive Platt on free transfers and Tranmere forward Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on loan.
