No cause for alarm for Sunderland fans

26 February 2014

There’s no chance of Sunderland supporters sleeping in and missing the Capital One Cup Final thanks to two of their Cup run heroes

Sunderland fans might be dreaming of Wembley glory at Sunday’s Capital One Cup Final but there’s no chance of supporters sleeping in and missing the big day thanks to two of their Cup run heroes.

With over 30,000 Sunderland fans facing an early wake-up call ahead of a 540 mile round-trip, credit card company and League Cup sponsor Capital One has teamed up with the club to kick-off the day in the best possible fashion.

Black Cats stars John O’Shea and Jack Colback have recorded special alarm calls for fans to download and ensure they are in the Cup Final spirit from moment they wake.

Although getting up for Final day won’t be too difficult, Capital One and Sunderland know what makes fans ‘tick’ and thought they deserved the perfect wakeup call to get them out the right side of bed.

Black Cats’ supporters will be able to download a range of different wake-up calls by visiting the Capital One UK Facebook page, from where they can choose from motivating messages from O’Shea and Colback to set as their alarm on the morning of Sunday 2nd March.

Jaidev Janardana, Chief Marketing Officer at Capital One, said: “Sunderland supporters are facing a long trip on the Sunday and we wanted to do something to recognise their loyalty and the journey they’re making.

"We hope that the messages help get the fans out of bed and on the way for what is set to be a fantastic Capital One Cup Final.”
