Football League expands radio show distribution

12 February 2014

The Football League has appointed Engage Sports Media to produce and distribute its newly formatted Football League Radio Show.

The Football League Radio Show is a one-hour weekly show broadcast throughout the season and sponsored by trade building supplies company TradePoint.

Hosted by Mark 'Clem' Clemmit, the show involves the regular studio discussion, interviews with the game's stakeholders but also some brand new feature strands. For the first time, regular short-form content is now being produced on a weekly basis with snippets from the show made available to fans. Football League Radio also interacts with fans through social media and club websites.

Working with Engage Sports Media, The Football League has expanded distribution of the show onto Soundcloud. In addition, it is available on the main Football League Website, all Football League club websites, iTunes, and now also the TuneIn Radio and Stitcher mobile phone applications.

The show is managed by The Football League's new in-house programming division, Football League Productions.

Alfonso Medina, Head of Media Rights at The Football League, said: "Football League Productions has been created to engage and entertain fans 24/7, 365 days a year. We are thankful to TradePoint for the support of this new show and are excited with Engage's appointment. We believe they will help take Football League Radio to new and bigger audiences both in the UK and worldwide."

Gregg Oldfield, CEO of Engage Sports Media, said: "We are delighted to be working with Football League Productions in their new regular audio offering. We have a strong history of creating and delivering unique radio formats. We will develop the content, and grow the audience for Football League Radio, by distributing it to multiple devices and platforms globally."
