Mansfield Town this week became the second team to reach the Final Third Development League Cup Semi-Finals after coming from behind to win 2-1 at Rotherham United on Monday afternoon.
The Stags only needed a point to confirm their place as Group B winners, but fell behind early on. They quickly equalised before netting a second with two minutes to go, maintaining their 100% record in the competition and in the process recording a fourth consecutive Cup victory.
Mansfield join Leicester City in the last four of the competition, with the other two places still to be decided.
One of those spots will be awarded to the winner of Group C, which has four teams on six points following Fleetwood Town's 3-1 triumph over Morecambe on Wednesday. The Cod Army joined Carlisle United, Tranmere Rovers and Wigan Athletic on six points, with Morecambe on three. Wigan play the Shrimps in the final match, and a point for the Latics will be enough to secure their place as group winners.
The best runner-up from either Group B or C will take the final place - with six teams still in the running for qualification.
There was also good news for Wigan in the Final Third Development League West Division. The Championship club's development side continued their reign at the top of the table after a 2-0 success over fellow Latics, Oldham Athletic.
Wigan are now on 19 points and three ahead of Wrexham, who moved into second thanks to a 3-0 win over third-placed Walsall.
