Sky Bet League 2 round-up

20 December 2014

Sky Bet League 2 pacesetters Wycombe Wanderers were held to a 1-1 draw at Accrington Stanley, allowing Shrewsbury Town and Luton Town to close the gap on them to two points.

Paris Cowan-Hall put Wanderers in front early on, but Sean Maguire equalised to earn Stanley a point at The Crown Ground.

Shrewsbury moved up to second as Andy Mangan scored the only goal of the game in their home win over Morecambe, while Luke Wilkinson, Luke Rooney and Jake Howells all hit the target as Luton brushed aside Newport County 3-0.

Mansfield Town overcame the dismissal of Rob Taylor to prevail 1-0 at AFC Wimbledon, with Vadaine Oliver netting, while Charlie Lee's sole strike in the 84th minute proved enough for Stevenage to edge out Exeter City.

Troy Archibald-Henville and Brad Potts scored either side of a Marc Richards penalty as Carlisle United prevailed 2-1 at home to Northampton Town.

Reuben Reid bagged a brace, the second from the penalty spot, and Bobby Reid also struck as Plymouth Argyle secured a 3-0 success against Dagenham & Redbridge at Home Park.

Bury shared the spoils with York City after an entertaining 2-2 draw at Gigg Lane, with Andrew Tutte and Daniel Nardiello putting the Shakers ahead before Jake Hyde and Luke Summerfield hit back for the visitors.

Cheltenham Town drew 1-1 with Portsmouth as Nigel Atangana equalised for Pompey following an opener by Omari Sterling-James, while it was the same score between basement dwellers Hartlepool United and Oxford United, with Joe Ironside and Danny Hylton hitting the back of the net.
