Karl Robinson revels in MK Dons display

1 December 2014

MK Dons boss Karl Robinson felt his side's 6-0 victory over 10-man Colchester United was the "perfect" performance.

The hosts were 3-0 up by half-time thanks to a Dele Alli strike and Benik Afobe's double.

On-loan Arsenal striker Afobe completed his hat-trick after the break while Ben Reeves also scored a penalty - following Will Packwood's red card - with Lee Hodson's goal in injury time the icing on the cake for the Dons.

"It just keeps getting better and better for me, it was the perfect day and you don't always get them," said Robinson.

"We dominated the game, the fans stuck with us and that's what you get. I thought all of the players were sensational, every single one of them.

"Obviously Benik will get the headlines and I understand that, but for Dele to get to eight goals so far this season is terrific. They all deserve the credit.

"I think Benik was fresh, and that's because he's not playing all the time - it's about managing the group.

"We believed that we could score goals but we also believed that they were going to come here and match us.

"We have to keep our feet firmly on the ground, but we can get excited because it's the best group we've ever had.

"We need to kick on from here, but everything is bright in the garden of MK Dons at the moment."
