Portsmouth have appointed Gary Waddock as their new assistant manager. The 52-year-old former QPR and Wycombe Wanderers boss, who has recently been coaching at Barnet, will work alongside manager Andy Awford following the departure of club legend Alan McLoughlin earlier this week.
Waddock told the club website: "Pompey are a big club and I want to help them start to move forwards again.
"I'm excited to be working with Andy, the staff and players, as well as getting to know the fans here.
"I've worked at this level before, so know what is required and now I can't wait to get started.
"I'd like to thank the manager and chairman at Barnet for their help in allowing me to move here."
