Assistant manager Paul Stephenson leaves Accrington Stanley

10 December 2014

Accrington Stanley have announced assistant manager Paul Stephenson has left the Sky Bet League 2 club by mutual consent.

Stephenson, 46, had been with Stanley since the 2012/13 season, working under Leam Richardson and then James Beattie.

He took temporary charge of Accrington when Beattie left earlier this campaign but has now departed the club currently managed by John Coleman.

"I'd particularly like to thank the players who are a great group of lads and have been fantastic throughout, even after James left," Stephenson said on the club's official website.

"A large number of the players have changed over the last couple of years so I have got to know them very well and worked closely alongside them.

"I'd also like to thank the fans who have been great throughout my time with the club."
