Notts County have signed midfielder Elliott Whitehouse on a one-year deal.
The 20-year-old Sheffield United academy product was a free agent after leaving the Blades at the end of last season.
Whitehouse played 18 times on loan at York during the first half of the 2013/14 campaign, before playing four months for non-League Alfreton towards the end of the season.
He impressed manager Shaun Derry on trial in pre-season and will be in contention to play in the Magpies' season opener against Preston in Sky Bet League One on Saturday.
