Leeds United goalkeeper Paddy Kenny has left the club by mutual consent after being unused so far this season.
The 36-year-old was the subject of bizarre speculation after it was reported that new owner Massimo Cellino had ordered Dave Hockaday to drop the keeper as he regards the number 17 - the day Kenny was born on in May 1978 - as unlucky.
Having made 34 appearances last term, Kenny wasn't even on the bench for this season's Sky Bet Championship matches with Millwall and Middlesbrough, plus the Capital One Cup clash with Accrington Stanley, with Marco Silvestri and Stuart Taylor sharing the duties between the posts.
Former Bury and Sheffield United keeper Kenny joined United for £400,000 in July 2012 and has been capped seven times by the Republic of Ireland.
