Crawley have signed goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown following his release from Sky Bet Championship side Leeds.
Having been a free agent for most of the summer, Ashdown has put pen to paper on a short-term contract with the Reds lasting until the end of December.
Ashdown made just eight appearances during his two-year spell at Elland Road.
Manager John Gregory talked of the urgent need to bring in a keeper following the expiration of Raphael Spiegel's loan move.
He told the club's official website: "I got very nervous I have to say, and I actually stopped a training session the other day because I've got one goalkeeper. I was thinking 'he's only got to get one on the end of the finger and that's him out, and we haven't got a goalkeeper'."
Ashdown will now come into the squad to face Milton Keynes Dons at stadiummk and he will challenge Brian Jensen for the number one jersey.
