Gillingham have signed former Arsenal trainee Gavin Hoyte on a five-month deal.
The defender was a free agent after failing to agree a new contract with Dagenham & Redbridge and will stay with the Gills until January 18.
Hoyte started his career with Arsenal, making four appearances for the Gunners, and has also had loan spells at Lincoln, Brighton, Watford and AFC Wimbledon.
He is unlikely to make his debut against Swindon on Tuesday but should be available for Gillingham's Sky Bet League One trip to Barnsley on Saturday.
"I'm pleased to have Gavin on board - he has trained with us for a couple of weeks and has a lot of games under his belt," said boss Peter Taylor, to the club's official site.
"After looking at him we have decided to offer him a contract until the middle of January, I am looking forward to working with him."
