We look ahead to the action in the Second Round of the Capital One CupThe Second Round of the Capital One Cup gets under way on Tuesday 26th August with 20 matches, before a further five games the following day.
After the drama in the opening round of fixtures in the 2014/15 competition – in which 110 goals were scored over 35 games - Round 2 has big boots to fill.
In the First Round, Scunthorpe United, Oxford United, Burton Albion, Crawley Town, Portsmouth, Shrewsbury Town and Northampton Town all overcame higher-league opposition, to earn ties against Sky Bet Championship and Premier League sides.
Portsmouth, Burton, Oxford and Shrewsbury are the four teams from Sky Bet League 2 who will take on top-flight opponents in a bid to cause yet more drama and upsets. For Burton, it will be the first time they have played Queens Park Rangers.
One of the two matches selected for live Sky Sports coverage also features two clubs coming together for the first time ever, as Milton Keynes Dons welcome Manchester United to stadiummk.
The match on Tuesday at 8pm will be Louis van Gaal's first Capital One Cup game as Red Devils boss, with the club entering the competition at this stage for the first time in 19 seasons.
Then, on Wednesday at 7:45pm, Bradford City host 1968 League Cup winners Leeds United in a Yorkshire derby in the other televised fixture.
The two sides have met 23 times in the past with Leeds leading 14-2 in terms of wins. Last time they clashed was also in this competition, when the Whites triumphed 3-2 at Elland Road in a First Round classic in 2011/12.
Another notable fixture sees Fulham make the short, six-mile trip along the River Thames to face local rivals Brentford. The two Sky Bet Championship clubs haven’t met since 1998, but this will be the first of at least three meetings between them this season.
