Wigan Athletic have completed the permanent signing of Martyn Waghorn from Leicester City.
Waghorn, soon to be out of contract with the Premier League-bound Foxes, is currently on loan at the DW Stadium and the striker will now remain there until the summer of 2017 after putting pen to paper on a three-year deal.
"Martyn has impressed us all since he arrived in January," Wigan boss Uwe Rosler told the club's official website. "On the pitch, he has added something different, scoring and assisting crucial goals and he gives us another tremendous option from set pieces.
"Off the pitch he has a real professional attitude, he works hard and has fitted in perfectly to the dressing room.
"I am delighted we have been able to get a young English player with a proven track record on a free and I am sure he will keep helping us this season and become a real crowd favourite here at the DW."
The 24-year-old has scored three goals and contributed five assists in nine Sky Bet Championship games since linking up with the Latics.
Waghorn began his career at Sunderland and joined Leicester on loan in the summer of 2009 before a £3million permanent move was put in place a year later.
He scored 20 goals in 102 appearances for the Foxes, half of those off the bench, and had loan periods at Charlton Athletic and Hull City during his time with the Midlands club.
