Middlesbrough striker Kei Kamara has undergone a successful hernia operation and could be back in action before the end of the season.
The 29-year-old Sierra Leone international has not featured since the 3-1 defeat by QPR on March 22 and last week flew to Germany for surgery.
A Boro spokesman said: "The operation went well and we would expect Kei to be back training soon.
"The surgeon who performed the operation is world-renowned in her field."
Boro have four games remaining this term, starting with struggling Millwall at the Riverside on Saturday.
