Millwall winger Lee Martin looks set to miss the crucial final game of the season at home to Bournemouth.
Martin was stretchered off after just 16 minutes of Saturday's 1-1 draw at QPR, and the Lions have confirmed he needed internal stitches in a deep gash to his shin.
Millwall boss Ian Holloway revealed after the match that the cut "went down to the bone".
The news comes as a blow to the Lions, who need a victory next weekend to be certain of avoiding relegation.
However the club say defender Mark Beevers, who accidentally got kneed in the back by a QPR supporter as some fans ran onto the pitch after the final whistle, is likely to be fit.
