Morris: England call best yet

17 October 2013

Middlesbrough youngster Bryn Morris insists that he felt 'honoured' and 'enjoyed' his latest England call-up the most.

The 17-year-old who has 21 caps across different England youth age groups captained the Under-18s to won 2-1 and 4-0 victories over Hungary on Friday and Monday.

Speaking to The Hartlepool Mail, Morris maintained that this latest experience is his best yet while on international duty.

"I took a lot from it even though they were friendlies it was a great few days," said the Boro starlet.

"When he [Neil Dewsnip, England Under-18 manager] told me I was captain, he said I had the respect of the players and that obviously gave me more confidence.

"It's always an honour to play for England. I felt comfortable in defence and was really happy with my performance on Monday.

"In the first half we were really good and dictated play.

"The manager said in the dressing room afterwards that our first half performance was the best he has ever seen for this age group in over 20 years.

"That's a big statement to make and proves we are a good side. We've shown as a group how good we can be."
