Mason makes Reebok return

27 November 2013

Joe Mason is again heading out on loan to Bolton from Cardiff in a deal until January 5.

The 22 year-old forward originally moved to the Reebok Stadium on November 11, only for Bluebirds boss Malky Mackay to make a surprising U-turn and recall him less than 24 hours later due to a couple of niggling injuries with his first-team players.

However, Wanderers boss Dougie Freedman always retained hope that Mason would return to the club and has completed the acquisition before Thursday's emergency loan deadline.

Mason joins the Sky Bet Championship's in-form club with Bolton having not tasted defeat in their last eight matches.

Freedman will hope to utilise the former Plymouth forward behind Jermaine Beckford, whose five goals in six games have propelled the Trotters up the table.

Since joining the club in 2011, Mason has played over 70 times for the Bluebirds and scored 18 goals, including the opener in the League Cup final against Liverpool.
