Plymouth boss John Sheridan believes it is 50-50 whether player of the year Onismor Bhasera will re-sign for the League Two club.
The left-back's current contract is set to expire and despite having been offered a deal Sheridan is yet to hear back from a player who has been at Home Park since 2010.
Sheridan told the Plymouth Herald: "I'm not stupid. I knew there was going to be interest in Bas from other clubs. He has been on good money but we have made him a good offer.
"Hopefully, he will think about it and come back to us. It's probably 50-50. We haven't heard anything from him but he's a player I want to keep at the club.
"On the form he showed towards the end of last season, I think he's the best left-back in the division, and he has played in the Championship."
Sheridan also confirmed he is close to agreeing a deal with Argentine playmaker Andres Gurrieri while 19-year-old attacker Isaac Vassell has accepted the offer of an extended contract.
