Journalism students win day out at Wembley

Three budding sports journalists won a day out at Wembley thanks to a partnership between The Football League and the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ).

This season, the NCTJ has held a competition to recognise the best performing sports journalism students. The three winning students were rewarded for their outstanding exam performances with the unique opportunity of writing a Play-Off Final match report from the Wembley press box.

Tom Crocker won first prize and he was at the national stadium on Monday 27th May covering the npower Championship Final between Crystal Palace and Watford.

Second prize was claimed by Liam Twomey, who covered the npower League 1 Final, and third prize went to Ben Burrows, who wrote the match report for the npower League 2 Final.
