Cureton set for Grecians exit

23 May 2013

Jamie Cureton admits he is looking for another club because financial constraints mean Exeter are currently unable to offer last season's top scorer a new deal.

The 37-year-old, who scored 21 times to finish as npower League Two's season-highest scorer, is keen to stay with the Grecians if the opportunity presents itself but his future looks to be elsewhere.

"At the moment I am looking around for another club," he told the Express & Echo. "Tis told me about two weeks ago that there wasn't a contract for me. He said the club were going in a different direction and that it was only going to keep one senior striker on board and I wasn't that striker.

"I'm not probably what I would consider a big earner down there either. I come within the budget of what they offer. I know people maybe think I'm one of the top earners down there but I'm not.

"I will keep in contact with Tis, but if something does come up that I like and I have got a good feel for, then I probably will take it because with Exeter there is no guarantee."
