Burton Albion's impressive February has been rewarded in style, with manager Gary Rowett and midfielder Jacques Maghoma receiving the npower Manager and Player of the Month awards respectively.
Four wins and a draw in five league games ensured that Burton maintained a spot in the automatic promotion positions. As well as the great form, Gary Rowett has the Brewers playing free-scoring football. His team managed 16 goals in their five February fixtures, sending a clear message to their rivals as the promotion race heats up.
Key to Burton's run of form was the performances of Jacques Maghoma. The cultured midfielder contributed heavily to the Brewers' February goal spree, scoring four goals, including a superb curler into the top corner in the 4-2 victory over Exeter City.
Speaking about Rowett's win, panel member Alan Curbishley said: "Burton's fine season has continued through February with Rowett's men winning four of their five games. The Brewers are now in a great position to compete for an automatic promotion place in npower League 2."
Commenting from npower, Partnership and Sponsorship Manager Katy Thomas added: "It was clearly a great month for Burton Albion, both in the dugout and on the pitch.
"It's very tight up at the top of npower League 2 but after a month like this, I'm sure the Brewers will be brimming with confidence and will back themselves heavily to win automatic promotion."
