Bury have snapped up former Bolton goalkeeper Rob Lainton.
The 23-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the League Two club following a successful trial at Gigg Lane.
Lainton rose through the academy ranks at Bolton but failed to make a first-team appearance and was released at the end of last season.
He had several contract offers this summer, including from Championship admirers, but has opted to link up with Bury, for whom he appeared in the second half of Saturday's 2-1 pre-season victory at non-league Radcliffe Borough.
Lainton becomes the eighth player to join the Shakers revolution following the takeover of the club in late May and the subsequent lifting of a transfer embargo.
