Williams loving dream job at Palace

20 February 2013

Crystal Palace youngster Johnny Williams has described his journey from the club's youth set-up to first-team as "a dream come true".

Speaking to LFE last Thursday Williams said: "I never thought I'd play one game for the first-team let alone over 35 now - it's been a dream come true."

The Wales Under-21 international was in the Palace side that thrashed Middlesbrough 4-1 at the weekend and he admitted that automatic promotion is still the aim.

"We're in a really good position at the moment and we're hoping we can push up and nick second spot," continued Williams whose Palace side sit in the Play-Off positions.

"I was at the Play-Off final in 2004 as an academy player and when we won it was just unbelievable to think of being part of something like that would be mind-blowing.

"The Play-Offs look special when you see them on TV but I'd rather have less stress and go straight up."
