New deal for Darlow

23 August 2013

Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Karl Darlow has signed a new four-year contract with the club.

Darlow's fine start to the season - he has yet to concede a goal in the Reds' first three Sky bet Championship matches - has been rewarded with a new long-term deal at the City Ground.

The 22-year-old has impressed ever since becoming Forest's number one following Lee Camp's departure in January and the former Aston Villa trainee, who has also spent time on loan at Walsall and Newport, was overjoyed at committing his future to the club.

"I'm delighted," he told Forest's official website. "I've been here a while and it's nice to extend that. I love the club and hopefully I can keep doing what I'm doing and retain the number one shirt for the next four years."

Manager Billy Davies was also pleased to see the keeper sign on the dotted line.

He added: "It's thoroughly deserved, we're all delighted for him."
