Birmingham have extended Shane Ferguson's loan deal until the end of the campaign.
The versatile Northern Ireland international, 21, has made six appearances for Lee Clark's side since joining from Newcastle on an initial one-month deal that expired after the 3-2 defeat to Wolves on Easter Monday.
The two clubs have now agreed a deal to allow the player to remain at St Andrews until the end of the npower Championship season.
"We think Shane's a terrific little player and he's a great kid," Blues boss Clark told bcfc.com.
"We're delighted that we'll have him for the rest of the season. I think the deal has benefited us, Newcastle and Shane.
"He's brought quality, tenacity, speed and energy and he puts in quality deliveries. You've also got to remember just how young he is as well."
