Fantasy Football round-up

4 April 2013

There's just one Manager of the Month prize left to fight for in Phones 4u Fantasy Football and if you want to win it you should follow the example set by Brighton and Hove Albion fans.

Seagulls supporters filled out three of the top five places in the race to be March's Manager of the Month, in The Football League's Official Fantasy Football game.

Jonathan Platt topped the standings after Easter Sunday's npower Championship action and will receive a trophy on the pitch at the Amex Stadium and take in a behind the scenes tour.

The manager of 'Jonny P' clearly believed in the three Brighton players in his team because he outscored his rivals despite not making any transfers since the start of February.

However, that faith was rewarded and Albion striker Leonardo Ulloa bagged more than half of Jonathan's monthly tally on his own.

The Argentine, who has racked up eight goals since moving to English football from Spanish outfit Almeria, was the best performing player in the game for March.

Ulloa started the month with a hat-trick at home to Huddersfield Town and finished it with seven goals and an assist to his name.

Another Brighton fan, Philip Wingfield, and his team 'Kerching' finished in second for March thanks to the exploits of Tomasz Kuszczak and David Lopez.

Steve Ross and 'Telscombe Seagulls' rounded out the top five, contributing to Brighton winning the monthly edition of The Fans Championship.

Supporters join forces to represent their favourite clubs in The Fans Championship and Brighton left the chasing pack in their wake last month, beating Ipswich Town by 7.6 points.

Brighton defender Wayne Bridge certainly played his part because the former England left-back is the sixth most popular player in the game, making his way into 28.8% of teams.

Craig Mackail-Smith has been the best points scoring Brighton player this season, although Ulloa is already closing in on the energetic striker's haul of 39 points.

As we approach the climax of the campaign it's not just promotion and survival at stake in the npower Football League.

The last remaining Manager of Month award is also up for grabs in Phones 4u Fantasy Football and there are plenty of points to be won if your club mounts a final challenge.
